Probiotics Stress Response Profiling

Stress response profiling is a method to investigate NGPs’ viability and endurance, and has important guiding values for NGPs’ production. Exploration of probiotics’ stress responses to adverse conditions not only has a basic scientific motive but can also facilitate efforts to improve their performance in industrial applications. With extensive expertise in the human probiotic field, Creative Biolabs is committed to deepening our understanding of the role of microbiota in human health and providing overall solutions for next-generation probiotics (NGPs) discovery. We have explored a live biotherapeutics discovery platform for NGPs discovery, bioanalysis, and qualification evaluation, and cGMP manufacturing.

Microbial Stress Responses

NGPs, also termed as live biotherapeutic products (LBPs), are live microorganisms that may encounter extreme environmental conditions during culture processing or along the gastrointestinal tract. These conditions include high temperature, low temperature, low and alkaline pH, oxidative stress, high hydrostatic pressure, osmotic pressure, bile, and starvation, etc. Usually, the bacteria will withstand the adverse environmental conditions by the transient induction of general and specific proteins. These adaptation mechanisms generally activate different metabolic pathways that lead to changes in the protein and DNA profiles of the organisms.

Our Services About Stress Response Profiling

Differential expression of a wide variety of genes involved in cell envelope stress, heat/cold shock response, protein denaturation, and DNA damage is associated with bacterial stress responses. Creative Biolabs is unique in the field of comprehensive microbial stress response studies and testing. We provide proteomics and whole genome DNA microarrays alongside heterologous expression studies to provide important insights into the response and adaptation of probiotic bacteria to environmental stresses.
